Volunteers to read in the classroom

Millcreek Elementary is seeking volunteers to support our Scholastic REAL Read program. The REAL Read program is a school-to-home reading program that fosters the importance of reading in school and at home. On four pre-selected days each year, each homeroom class will have a volunteer come to read a book to the class and engage the students about the information from the book. Then, each student will take a copy of that same book home to help build their home library. Students will also take home an activity sheet for families to engage with their child about the book. Our first three REAL Read dates are November 2nd, December 19th, and January 4th.
