Every last Monday of the month will be dedicated to play, making connections to content, and learning how to engage learners in a virtual world so that they may create and demonstrate their learning.
All experience levels welcome!
“Learning should be an active process. Too often, students come to school to watch their teachers work.” - Willard R. Daggett. As we welcome students back in person and virtually, you may be looking for new ways to engage your learners, especially in literacy. Some may be considering makerspaces while others are looking for new ways to create with Chromebooks. No matter where you are in your professional journey, you can incorporate creativity and making into your literacy classroom, and we are here to help!
Join us for our Remaking Literacy Book Study where we dive into innovative instructional strategies to incorporate maker learning in the classroom. This book study is open to all levels, but will be more geared towards K-5. You will receive a free copy of the book and PD credit.

Date and Time: 2/9/21 at 4:15 pm
STEM does not have to be its own content or specials rotation. You can add STEM into your lessons today, well tomorrow. We have developed some easy stories and lesson plans to share with you and your colleagues. These lessons are great places to start building STEM in your lessons. #VirtualSTEMBus

Our STEM resources were built with the hope that any teacher could implement our units into his/her classroom. Whether we are virtual, hybrid, or face-to-face, students can embark on a cross-curricular journey that both engages and teaches 21st century skills. Embedded into every unit is a literacy component, connections to NGSS and the new KAS Technology Standards. Our units are designed to last approximately 1-2 weeks, roughly 30-45 minutes a part. These units are designed to be utilized however a teacher sees fit, whether it be during independent learning time or whole group.
We will be adding level 2 extension units to each of our existing ones. If you would like to learn more, check out our Intermediate Units and Teacher Overview Videos. Much more resources to come!
