Good afternoon!

If you are receiving this email, congrats on successfully adding the "Elementary EL" Navigator course to your favorites 🎉. As mentioned yesterday, this is where all newsletters will be posted this year. Before we begin our regular newsletters when school starts, we wanted to give you a few pieces of information (the blue below indicated links that are clickable):

  • Here is a recap of the information shared yesterday, including links to the presentations.

  • The Office of Assessment has updated the timeline for completing required WIDA trainings, as the Speaking training for grades 1-5 will be available beginning Sept. 1. The new deadline is Oct. 1

  • If you have students who took the Alternate ACCESS: The Kentucky Department Education (KDE) will work to import the scores for districts in state edition of IC in late summer to ensure districts have time to make these determinations prior to start of school, to meet the 30-day notification deadline. Communication will be shared with districts once the WIDA Alternate ACCESS scores are available in IC. (DAC Update 4/21/25)

We have not yet seen scores come through IC at this time, so hold off on making any assumptions for students who took the Alt. ACCESS.

  • Leadership Opportunity - See this note for an opportunity with KDE and Office of Assessment

  • ELLevation will be syncing tonight with IC to allow for IC settings for school and staff member roles to over-ride any ELLevation settings. This should allow all staff members who changed buildings to see their new building/students without the need for manually changing every teacher who changed buildings over the summer. It should not affect your ELLevation access, but please be patient on Monday morning if anything unintentionally was affected.

Enjoy your weekend!
